The close relationship between
Kiranga Youth Polytechnic and VSO Jitolee has seen the institution develop
positively and especially the Information Communication and Technology (ICT)
department. VSO Jitolee donated ten (10) computers and also facilitated the
creation of a Local Area Network (LAN).
VSO Jitolee has also sponsored and
funded the hair dressing department where they have donated blow driers, heaters,
basins, and driers amongst many other items.
VSO Jitolee has also helped in
training instructors and trainees on different subjects like Agribusiness,
guidance and counseling, pedagogical trainings and leadership. They have also
sponsored exchange visits, funding infrastructures and open days.
Recently Arid Lands Information
Network (ALIN) has also come on board and is now helping VSO Jitolee to set up
Kiranga Maarifa Centre. The Maarifa Centre will provide ICT training,
cyber/internet services and Library/video shows. The Centre is expected to provide
information of all kinds both to the students and the community neighboring the
Polytechnic.
